I recently attended a wine event here in San Francisco were a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir from 2006 was handed to me for consumption.   I swirled the god’s nectar in my glass,  looked through the glass for good color, I even put my nose in it and took a big nostril flaring sniff ( I just copied the gentleman next to me, he seemed to know what he was doing and looked like the guy from the movie Sideways ).  I took a sip, and the smooth rich flavor of the crushed grape hit my pallet…. this is how I would describe Jessica Johnson’s line!

Emily Ginn is the creator of the line Ginne. A line created with flattering stitch patterns and fun graphics.  Emily fits the mold of a designer, taking pieces of clothing and making it her own! She uses organic cotton in many of her piece for a soft, comfortable and form fitting look. What more can you ask of a designer then to be original with their art? She currently sells her goods at Back space in Hayes Valley, Rage in Hayes Valley and Wonderland in the mission.

Girly edgy? Sasha Wingate would say so. This boutique owner’s creation is something out a Alice and Wonderland, the new version. You walk in, you are immediately engaged and automatically feel enchanted by all the “gorgeous little things”. As I was in there I could not stop looking through the different designers, trinkets, old copies of literature,  as if I were in an art gallery. The former graphic designer shows off her creative eye with this boutique and her old world bathtub with endless surprises  is one explain of the refined elegant shopping experience you will have there.

Five & Diamond…” think dreamy Victorian elegance collides with burning man rebellion .” – Pan Magazine. OMG, I could not agree more! That article was introduced to me for the expansion of my knowledge on the designers Phoebe Durland, Leighton Kelly,  Bootleg,  Steamtrunk, Shawna Hofmann, Heathen and Jan Hilmer… after my partner Salpi commanded that we have them in our show ( good call Miss). If y’all haven’t received the memo and filled out your TPS reports, there is a sub-culture rising and with every sub-culture there is a style, 5& Diamond caters to it supremely. Jessica Atreides, the straw-boss ( mgr of the store) and an enormous help on my education, is  a believer in the product and could tell you the Five & Diamond story as if she were casually reading  a well written novel.

Go check it out, even if  it’s not your thing.  Appreciating the beauty of another style is what keeps the world in fashion turning.
