The Beauty of Life: Sickle Cell Awareness Charity Fashion Show

Last Friday October 8th 2010, Juanita Scott produced a great show for a great cause benefiting Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland! On the Second floor of the Metreon, she set a up a video screen, sound system and a DJ, along with a intimate red carpeted runway. The show started out with a short video on Sickle Cell and how it impacts everyone involved and moved right into the fashion period of the night.

The MC was one of my favorites! He was enteraining and kept the crowd engaged with his light heart jokes and pleasant demeanor.

Here are the designers involved: Marianne Faulkner, Anya Zuyeva, Nancy Delos, Reyes, R. Shay Miles, Dao Thabthimkoson, Anthony Aleman. The jewelry: Gallery of Jewels and Miz B by Leila Radan.

My thought on the show: I go to a lot of fashion show! A lot! I always try to look at the whole show and not just one aspect or portion of it. I have to say, Juanita did a great job from head to toe for this show! It seemed to work smoothly from the start with the video ( educated everyone on the cause) and then onwards to the entrainment ( fashion show) with the raffle closing.  The whole point of the show was to engage people and to cause awareness with raising money. I always like these show, they have a bit more meat to them.
